|Your Child’s Routine on Arrival
For Children in the Bear Room
To enter the Nursery, use the gates and pathway that leads to our main door and wait outside. Please close all gates as you come through them to ensure the safety of all the children using the site. The door will be opened by a member of staff at 8.45am.
If you are arriving at 11.45 for lunch club or 12.20 for afternoon session please wait by the side gate by the bins and a member of staff will open the gate for you.
All will have a named peg in the clock room area, please bring:
Bag containing wellingtons, change of clothes including spare shoes.
If your Children/Child is still in nappies please provide:
Nappies, wipes, nappy sacks and cream if required.
All this can be put into our nursery gym bags which can be purchased from us at a cost of £2.00.
We encourage the children to wear the nursery uniform as it gives them an identity and prepares them for school, you can purchase polo-shirts (£9) and sweatshirts (£10) from us or alternatively you can purchase red sweatshirts or cardigans and white polo shirts from local stores like Tesco, Asda or Matalan. We do have a small collection of second hand uniform which can be purchased at £2 per item. If you would like to purchase any uniform through the nursery we are open from 8am -6pm throughout the summer.
Please help your child to self- register by putting their name picture on the Name Board just as they go into the Bears’ room.
If your child is having packed lunches then encourage them to put their lunch bag on the table by the kitchen door so it can be put in the fridge. Please make sure these are named and if possible include an ice pack to help keep them cool.
Please provide your child with a named water bottle, which needs to be put on the tray by the kitchen door.
If your child is having a hot lunch please help them to place the correct coloured sticker on the lunch sheet this on the board by the office.
Your child is free to enjoy any of the activities we have on offer and you are welcome to stay for a short time to help them settle or you can leave. Staff will be available to help you settle your child. As you leave the Setting you will be asked to sign your child in. For children in the Bears’ Room the sheet will be with the member of staff on the main door.
|At the End of the Session
When you collect your child at the end of the day please wait by the main Nursery door for 3.20pm collection, if you are collecting at 11.45am please wait by the side gate near to the bins as we can’t use the bottom gate or pathway at lunchtimes as we need to ensure the safeguarding of the school children. For children in our Bears’ Room you will be asked to collect them from the Construction Area where a member of staff will have the signing out book. We ask that you encourage your child to remove their name from the name board, check their drawer for any letters and then collect their coat.
If you are unable to collect your child please inform the member of staff on the door in the morning or contact the Nursery before the end of your child’s session and tell us the name of the person who will collect, we also ask that you think of a password that is known only to you, us and the person who is collecting. Ensure that the person collecting also has some identification with them when they collect especially if it is the first time they are collecting your child and to report to the staff member on the door before collecting your child.
Our Topic this half term is “All about me”, please complete the enclosed family tree and all about me booklet and return to nursery on your child’s first day.
To ensure your child’s safety at Nursery
If your child is not attending their normal session due to illness etc. we ask that you contact the setting to inform us before 8.45am. Sessions will be charged as normal.
We ask that your child wears clothes that are suitable for the activities on offer at the Nursery some of which are messy. We encourage that your child wears the Nursery uniform, we ask that children do not wear belts or skinny jeans as they often find then difficult to undo or take down when using the toilet. Children should also wear suitable footwear for nursery activities either shoes or trainers.
Children are not allowed to wear jewellery either real or play to Nursery, if your child does have their ears pierced then small studs may be used. If your child wears other jewellery for religious or health reasons please speak to the Manager.
If your child has a comforter that you feel will help them settle in during the first few weeks we suggest that you send it in their bag.
Children are provided with a drink and healthy snack during the session. If your child is having a home packed lunch please ensure it contains healthy food and NO NUT PRODUCTS. If your child has any special dietary requirements please speak to the Manger.
If you wish your child to stay for Lunch Club as a one off (depending on availability) please inform the member of staff on the door in the morning or telephone the nursery before 9.00am, once the lunches have been ordered we are unable to change them.
Under the free funding rules children are required to attend all their booked in sessions unless they are ill in which case we need you to telephone on their first day of absence and to provide a letter on their return explaining the absence. Because of this, it is not possible for us to make changes to funded sessions once you have signed the parent form at the beginning of each term. We are audited every year and must explain any absences; if a child has many missed sessions, or lateness, County may cancel your funding and you will be responsible for paying all sessions that have been booked for the term.
If you have any issues or concerns about your child you are welcome to telephone us during the session.
We have the following additional activities available at a small additional cost, if you want your child to attend any changed activities the cost will be added to your invoice.
|Monday am||Multi -Sport||Simon Arnold (fit4kidz)||Free|
|Tuesday am||French||Madam Glaze||£2 per week|
|Wednesday am||Spanish||Emma Clarke||£2 per week|
If you would like your child to attend these sessions please complete the form below. If your child does not normally attend a morning session and you would like them to take part please speak to the Manager.
On Thursday 19th October 2017 at 6pm – 7.30pm, we will be holding a “Getting to know you” event, this will be an opportunity to find out more about the activities we do to support your child to gain the skills they need to be independent learners and how you can support and develop these skills using everyday activities at home. We will also hold a brief Annual General Meeting which we are required to do as a Charity run Nursery which is open to all interested parties. The Nursery is also looking to recruit new Trustees to join the board. If you would be interested in volunteering please contact Sarah (Nursery Manager). It will also be an opportunity to meet with and talk to the staff about your child’s learning so far. Please complete the form attached so that we have an idea of numbers so that food can be provided.
As a Nursery, we are looking forward to meeting and working with you to support your child as they develop and grow. Thank you for choosing us.
