You can also upload your own observations to your child’s profile of any achievements, wow moments, celebrations etc that we can then discuss and celebrate with your child at nursery.

If you need any support using Famly please ask a member of staff.

Safeguarding

Mobile Phones:

Mobile phones MUST NOT be used on the nursery premises.

Social Networking:

DO NOT contact a member of staff viapersonal social media profile about nursery matters. If you have any concerns or matters you need to raise please either send anemail to manager@cloptonnursery.org.uk oroffice@cloptonnursery.org.uk orphone 01789 269 360 or speak to a member of staff at nursery.

If a member of staff or volunteer is concerned about a child:

There may be occasions when staff are concerned about a child at the nursery.  The child’s behaviour may have changed, they may say something, or physical signs may have been noticed.  In these circumstances, staff will try to give the children the opportunity to talk.  Staff are encouraged and supported to ask children if they are OK, if there is anything the child would like to talk to them about and if they can help in any way.  Staff are trained to do this by asking appropriate open questions which do not lead the child in any particular direction but invite the child to talk about anything if they wish to.

Staff use the record of concern form (Green form)to record these early concerns.  The staff member will then pass the form onto a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). These are Georgia, Sophie, Julie or Alison. The DSL will contact the parent in the event of a concern, suspicion or disclosure.

However, if the nursery believes that notifying parents could increase the risk to the child or exacerbate the problem, advice will be sought first from Children’s Social Care.

If after discussing with the parents it is felt that the child isn’t at risk the form will be filed confidentially. If it is felt that the child is at risk a referral will be made to Children’s Social Care.
