Your Child’s Routine on Arrival
For Children in the Cubs’ Room
To enter the Nursery, use the gates and pathway that leads to our main door and wait outside. Please close all gates as you come through them to ensure the safety of all the children using the site. The door will be opened by a member of staff at 8.45am. Please take you child round to the cubs’ room.
If you are arriving at 11.45 for lunch club or 12.20 for afternoon session please wait by the side gate by the bins and a member of staff will open the gate for you.
All children will have a named peg in the clock room area, please bring:
Bag containing wellingtons, change of clothes including spare shoes.
If your Children/Child is still in nappies please provide:
Nappies, wipes, nappy sacks and cream if required.
All this can be put into our nursery gym bags which can be purchased from us at a cost of £2.00.
We encourage the children to wear the nursery uniform as it gives them an identity and prepares them for school, you can purchase polo-shirts (£9) and sweatshirts (£10) from us or alternatively you can purchase red sweatshirts or cardigans and white polo shirts from local stores like Tesco, Asda or Matalan. We do have a small collection of second hand uniform which can be purchased at £2 per item. If you would like to purchase any uniform through the nursery we are open from 8am -6pm throughout the summer.
If you have paid the registration fee the uniform and bag is included and will be provided at settling in sessions.
Please provide your child with a named water bottle, which needs to be put on the tray by the door.
If your child is having packed lunches from home please hand them to a member of staff in the cubs’ room. Please make sure these are named and if possible include an ice pack to help keep them cool.
If your child is having a hot lunch please help them to place the correct coloured sticker on the lunch sheet this on the board by the office.
At the End of the Session
When you collect your child at the end of the day please wait by the main Nursery door for 3.20pm collection, if you are collecting at 11.45 a.m. please wait by the side gate near to the bins as we can’t use the bottom gate or pathway at lunchtimes as we must ensure the safeguarding of the school children. If your child is in the Cubs please go around and collect, you will be asked to sign them out there.
If you are unable to collect your child please inform the member of staff on the door in the morning or contact the Nursery before the end of your child’s session and tell us the name of the person who will collect, we also ask that you think of a password that is known only to you, us and the person who is collecting. Ensure that the person collecting also has some identification with them when they collect especially if it is the first time they are collecting your child and to report to the staff member on the door before collecting your child.
Our topic this half term is: “All about me” Please complete the enclosed family tree and all about me booklet and return it to nursery on your child’s first day. Thank you
To ensure your child’s safety at nursery
If your child is not attending their normal session due to illness etc. we ask that you contact the setting to inform us before 8.45am. Sessions will be charged as normal.
We ask that your child wears clothes that are suitable for the activities on offer at the Nursery some of which are messy. We encourage that your child wears the Nursery uniform. Children can wear their own trousers or skirts or grey jogging bottoms, trousers or skirts, we ask that children do not wear belts or skinny jeans as they often find them difficult to undo or take down when using the toilet. Children should also wear suitable footwear for nursery activities, either shoes or trainers.
Children are not allowed to wear jewellery either real or play to Nursery, if your child does have their ears pierced then small studs may be used. If your child wears other jewellery for religious or health reasons please speak to the Manager.
Your child can bring in a comforter if you feel it will help them settle in during the first few weeks we suggest that you send it in their bag.
Children are provided with a drink and healthy snack during the session. If they are staying for a home packed lunch please ensure you provide a healthy lunch and that the items contain NO NUTS PRODUCTS. If your child has any special dietary requirements please speak to the Manger.
If you wish your child to stay for lunch club as a one off then please inform the member of staff on the door in the morning or telephone the nursery before 9.00am, once the lunches have been ordered we are unable to change them.
Under the Free Funding rules children are required to attend all their booked in sessions unless they are ill in which case we need you to telephone on their first day of absence and to provide a letter on their return explaining the absence. Because of this it is not possible for us to make changes to funded sessions once you have signed the parent form at the beginning of each term. We are audited every year and must explain any absences; if a child has many missed sessions; or lateness County may cancel your funding.
If you have any issues or concerns about your child you are welcome to telephone us during the session. We look forward to seeing you and your child and hope that you have enjoyed the summer holiday.
On Thursday 19th October 2017 at 6pm – 7.30pm, we will be holding a “Getting to know you” event, this will be an opportunity to find out more about the activities we do to support your child to gain the skills they need to be independent learners and how you can support and develop these skills using everyday activities at home. We will also hold a brief Annual General Meeting which we are required to do as a Charity run Nursery which is open to all interested parties. The Nursery is also looking to recruit new Trustees to join the board. If you would be interested in volunteering please contact Sarah (Nursery Manager). It will also be an opportunity to meet with and talk to the staff about your child’s learning so far. Please complete the form attached so that we have an idea of numbers so that food can be provided.
As a Nursery, we are looking forward to meeting and working with you to support your child as they develop and grown. Thank you for choosing us.
